Blue Advantage What Is One Advantage Of Using Bromothymol Blue (BTB) Indicator Over Red Cabbage Extract?

What is one advantage of using bromothymol blue (BTB) indicator over red cabbage extract? - blue advantage

If anyone knows of any reason other than cost or availability may be particularly useful. Rather, they are looking for a reaction to the chemistry in context. I have a feeling that something with the pH-range might have to do, but I do not know. Thank you!

You're right, bromothymol blue pH has indicated a range of good.
The percentage of red cabbage indicator is probably a number of different pH, but more importantly, it is not simply a pure connection with the collection of wet leaves.
The mixture of compounds may not be consistent between preparations persecution, or if they are collected in different laboratories under different conditions. In summary, the cabbage extract an effective indicator, but it must be normalized before use.
This means that you do an evaluation of the calibration on the use of a particular batch.
In addition, the extract of cabbage may be susceptible to oxidative damage as they get older, but I'm not sure that this is the case.
